Privacy Policy

Life Seed Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) establishes the following Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as “this Policy”) regarding the handling of users’ personal information in the services provided on this website (hereinafter referred to as “the Service”).

Article 1 (Personal Information) “Personal information” shall mean “personal information” as defined in the Personal Information Protection Law, referring to information about a living individual that can identify the specific individual through names, dates of birth, addresses, telephone numbers, contact information, and other descriptions contained in the information, as well as data related to facial appearance, fingerprints, voiceprints, and information (personal identification information) that can identify a specific individual solely from that information, such as the insurer number on a health insurance card.

Article 3 (Purpose of Collecting and Using Personal Information) The purposes for which the Company collects and uses personal information are as follows:

Article 4 (Change of Usage Purpose) The Company shall change the usage purpose of personal information only when it is reasonably recognized that the usage purpose is related to the purpose before the change. If the usage purpose is changed, the Company shall notify the user of the changed purpose by the method prescribed by the Company or make it public on this website.

Article 5 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties) The Company will not provide personal information to third parties without the prior consent of the user, except in the cases listed below. However, this excludes cases permitted by the Personal Information Protection Law and other laws and regulations.

  • When there is a need to protect a person’s life, body, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual.

  • When there is a special need to improve public health or promote the sound upbringing of children, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual.

  • When it is necessary to cooperate with a national agency, a local public body, or a person entrusted by them in executing the affairs prescribed by law, and obtaining the consent of the individual may impede the execution of the said affairs.

  • When the following matters are announced or publicly disclosed in advance, and the Company has submitted a notification to the Personal Information Protection Commission:

    • That the purpose of use includes provision to a third party.

    • The means or methods of provision to a third party.

    • To cease the provision of personal information to a third party upon the request of the individual.

    • The method for accepting requests from the individual.

Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, in the following cases, the recipient of the information shall not be considered a third party:

  • When the Company entrusts all or part of the handling of personal information to a third party within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use.

  • When personal information is provided due to the succession of business through merger or other reasons.

  • When personal information is jointly used with a specific person, provided that the individual is notified in advance, or the individual can easily know, of the fact, the items of personal information jointly used, the scope of joint users, the purpose of use by the users, and the name or title of the person responsible for the management of the personal information.

Article 6 (Disclosure of Personal Information) When the Company is requested by the individual to disclose their personal information, the Company shall disclose it to the individual without delay. However, the Company may decide not to disclose all or part of it if the disclosure falls under any of the following, and if a decision not to disclose is made, the Company will notify the individual of that fact without delay. A fee of 1,000 yen per request will be charged for the disclosure of personal information.

  • When there is a risk of harming the life, body, property, or other rights and interests of the individual or a third party.

  • When there is a risk of significantly hindering the proper execution of the Company’s operations.

  • When it would violate other laws and regulations.

Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, information other than personal information, such as history information and characteristic information, will generally not be disclosed.

Article 7 (Correction and Deletion of Personal Information) If a user believes that their personal information held by the Company is incorrect, the user may request the Company to correct, add, or delete (hereinafter referred to as “Correction, etc.”) their personal information according to the procedures stipulated by the Company. If the Company deems it necessary to respond to the request from the user in the preceding paragraph, the Company shall correct, etc., the said personal information without delay. If the Company makes a Correction, etc., based on the provisions of the preceding paragraph, or if it decides not to make a Correction, etc., the Company shall notify the user of this without delay.

Article 8 (Suspension of Use of Personal Information, etc.) If the Company is requested by the individual to suspend the use or erase (hereinafter referred to as “Suspension of Use, etc.”) of personal information on the grounds that it is handled beyond the scope of the purpose of use, or that it was acquired by wrongful means, the Company shall conduct the necessary investigation without delay. Based on the results of the investigation in the preceding paragraph, if the Company determines that it is necessary to respond to the request, the Company shall perform the Suspension of Use, etc., of the personal information without delay. If the Company performs the Suspension of Use, etc., based on the provisions of the preceding paragraph, or if it decides not to perform the Suspension of Use, etc., the Company shall notify the user of this without delay. Notwithstanding the preceding two paragraphs, if the Suspension of Use, etc., involves a large amount of expense or if it is otherwise difficult to perform the Suspension of Use, etc., and if necessary alternative measures can be taken to protect the rights and interests of the user, the Company shall take such alternative measures.

Article 9 (Change of Privacy Policy) The content of this Policy may be changed without notifying the user, except for matters otherwise stipulated in this Policy and by laws and regulations. Unless otherwise stipulated by the Company, the revised Privacy Policy shall take effect when it is posted on this website.
